The women’s Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is a one-day race held in Belgium. It has been raced 17 times since the first event 2006. The route is approximately the same each year and travels 122 km through the Flemish region of Belgium, starting in Ghent and finishing in Ninove. It is held on the same day as the men’s event but covers a slightly shorter distance.
The race will be featured on the women’s World Tour calendar for the first time in 2023.
Four riders have won the race twice: Suzanne de Goede (2006, 2009), Emma Johansson (2010 2011), Anna van der Breggen (2015, 2021), and Annemiek van Vleuten (2020, 2022). Dutch riders have won 11 of the 17 races.
Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2022
The 17th edition of the women’s Omloop Het Nieuwsblad was held on 22 February 2022. The winner was Annemiek van Vleuten. It was the second time the Dutch rider has won the race.
Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2023 Preview
The 2023 race will be held on 25 February 2023. It will be race 4 of 30 on the World Tour calendar.
