The women’s Ronde van Drenthe is a one-day race held in the Netherlands. It has been raced 15 times since starting in 2007 and has been part of the World Tour series every year it has run. The route is different each year, but generally finishes in Hoogeveen. The distance of the women’s race is usually around 160 km.
The full Ronde van Drenthe event program runs for three days and also hosts other women’s cycling races. These have included the Novilon Damesronde van Drenthe, Drentse 8 van Dwingeloo, and most recently the Acht van Westerveld. The titular race of the women’s Ronde van Drenthe is usually held on the Sunday.
The most successful rider is Marianne Vos, who won the event three times consecutively from 2011 – 2013. As of 2022 Dutch riders have won 10 of the 15 races.
Ronde van Drenthe 2022
The 15th edition of the women’s Ronde van Drenthe was held on 12 March 2022. It was the second event of the 2022 World Tour. The winner was Lorena Wiebes. It was her second win at the event, retaining the title from 2021.
